About this site
Komebae (米バエ) is a boat dive off Okinoshima in Sukumo Bay, Kochi Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 30 m and an average around 10 m. It is one of the area's leading big-fish sites and is recommended for intermediate to advanced divers, since current runs often. Riding the current, divers have seen dogtooth tuna, schools of amberjack and schooling hammerhead sharks, and threadfin trevally and schools of opaleye are common. The fish density is noticeably higher than at the surrounding sites.
