About this site
Uguru Garden (うぐるガーデン) is a boat dive off Ugurushima in Sukumo Bay, Kochi Prefecture, reached about 30 seconds from the harbour. Maximum depth is 20 m with an average around 10 m, it is suitable from beginner level and there is no current. A clean sand flat at 20 m is visited at times by spotted eagle rays, and a large crocodile flathead usually lies in the open and tolerates cameras. The shallows carry the densest hard coral around Ugurushima, so the safety stop is spent over the reef; batfish, parrotfish, Japanese pygmy seahorses and assorted butterflyfish are also seen.
