Komodo National Park (dive site cluster)

Komodo National Park sits in the Lesser Sunda Islands of Indonesia, between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores, and includes Komodo, Rinca, and Padar along with the surrounding waters of the Komodo Strait. The park spans a mix of currents flowing between the Flores Sea and the Indian Ocean, which shape the many dive sites scattered around its coastlines and smaller islets. It is a marine protected area as well as a terrestrial national park, known primarily on land for the Komodo dragon. Divers here have reported manta rays around its sites, and strong currents have also been noted as a hazard across the park's waters, consistent with the mixing of seas that defines the strait.
