About this site
Iwayoko (岩横) is a boat-dived reef on the Kumano coast of Tanegashima in Kagoshima Prefecture, about 20 minutes by boat, with a maximum depth of 20 m. As the name says, the dive runs between and beside the rocks visible offshore, over a ledge that steps down from 5 m to 12 m. Blue damselfish swarm constantly over the top of the ledge. Suitable from beginner level; the site was closed as of 2007.
