About this site
Mitsuse (三ツ瀬) is a boat-dived pinnacle off Tanegashima in Kagoshima Prefecture, about 40 minutes by boat, with a maximum depth of 30 m, dived only in autumn when the sea is calm. One sheer rock stands above the surface and, including it, three rock pinnacles lie below. Schools of giant trevally, dogtooth tuna, surgeonfish and rainbow runner pass through, resident fish such as lyretail grouper are plentiful, and the emperor and semicircle angelfish are exceptionally large. Advanced divers only; the site was closed as of 2007.
