Manta Point Komodo

Manta Point lies within Komodo National Park in the Nusa Tenggara Timur region of Indonesia, on one of the shallow sandy plateaus divers reach by boat from Labuan Bajo. It is known primarily as a cleaning station where reef manta rays gather, drawing divers who come to watch them circle over the sand and coral bommies. Verified depths max out around 12 metres, and despite the shallow profile the site is rated advanced, largely because the currents that draw the mantas in can turn strong and unpredictable across the plateau. Visibility can be reduced by plankton, the very food source that attracts the mantas in the first place, and divers need to manage both the current and their position carefully to avoid disturbing the rays as they pass through.
