About this site
Miyanohama (宮之浜) is a shore site on Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, about ten minutes by car, with a maximum depth of 7 m and an average around 3 m. The bottom is a long, shallow stretch of sand flanked by coral reef, and the colourful butterflyfish and other reef fish of the subtropics, including parrotfish, mullet, damselfish and yellow tangs, can be watched at an easy pace. There is little current and the site is suitable from beginner level.
