About this site
Ofune Ishi (お船石) is a shore-entry site at Inatori, Higashiizu, on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, with a maximum depth of 15 m and an average around 6 m, for advanced divers able to handle a boulder entry, with current at times. Eagle rays can be seen here with high reliability almost year-round, and the site's closeness to open water brings a chance of schooling pelagics. Ortmann's shrimp, schools of jack, Japanese bullhead sharks and banded houndsharks are also found.
