About this site
Okinose Sentan (沖の瀬 先端) is a drift dive on the tip of the outermost reef at Asahi on Toyama Bay, Toyama, with a maximum depth of 32 m and an average around 18 m. Good tidal flow brings dense fish life, with rivers of chicken grunt and largescale blackfish and young yellowtail and yellowtail amberjack hunting baitfish. Current can be fast at times; intermediate and above, with a free descent, so it is limited to divers with reliable equalising and buoyancy who can reach the bottom unaided, and full-foot fins are recommended. Red-spotted grouper, yellow grouper, Asian sheepshead wrasse and anthias in summer are also typical.
