About this site
Sazaejima (サザエ島) is a boat dive in the Shimogoto area of the Goto Islands around Fukue, Nagasaki Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 35 m, suitable from beginner level through to advanced, with current on spring tides. Several submerged pinnacles run into deeper water where large soft coral and whip coral grow, hosting whip coral shrimps, spider crabs and whip goby. Nudibranchs are plentiful, including the Pikachu nudibranch in season, and the shallows are a sheet of table coral with butterflyfish of many kinds.
