About this site
Maenoshima (前ノ島) is a boat dive on the east side of Narushima in the Kamigoto area of the Goto Islands, Nagasaki Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 20 m and an average around 10 m. With no current and relatively shallow depths it suits beginners and is also used for training. Sand spreads out below rocky areas with diverse coral colonies, and moving a short distance brings a completely different, more rugged reef. At 15 m there are schools of striped beakfish, painted sweetlips and stripey, plus spiny lobster.
