About this site
Shikahama (鹿浜) is a site of scattered large boulders 40 minutes by boat from Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, with a maximum depth of 26 m and an average around 16 m. Sand tiger sharks come up here in season, and the working depth of around 20 m makes them easy to photograph, with soldierfish, yellowfin goatfish, red spiny lobster and blotched fantail rays also present. Current runs at times; intermediate and above.
