About this site

The Spiegel Grove lies off Key Largo in the Florida Keys. This former U.S. Navy landing ship dock was sunk in 2002 as an artificial reef and has a large, complex superstructure that divers explore across multiple levels. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 24.4 metres over a wreck bottom and is considered an intermediate dive. Divers have reported barracuda, grouper, and nurse sharks around the hull, and inside the wreck, silt can reduce visibility and disorientation has been noted as a hazard.
