About this site
Uratabana (浦田鼻) is a boat-dived reef off the north of Tanegashima in Kagoshima Prefecture, about 30 minutes by boat, with a maximum depth of 15 m. A fixed net once stood here and fish life remains dense, with many sergeant majors and damselfish near the surface. Reaching it from Urata Beach means a long haul over white sand with gear and a long surface swim, so it is dived by boat. Intermediate and above.
