About this site
USS Pilotfish is a submarine that rests in the lagoon at Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands, one of the target vessels used in the 1946 Operation Crossroads nuclear weapons tests. Along with the other sunken target ships and submarines in the lagoon, it lies at depths that place it well into technical diving range, and the site is generally reached only on specialist liveaboard expeditions to Bikini. Diving here is considered advanced given the depths involved and the remote logistics of reaching the atoll.
