About this site
Sand Garden (サンドガーデン) is a dive site in the Makurazaki and Bonotsu area of Kagoshima Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 20 m and an average around 15 m, rated for advanced divers. Visibility over the rippled white sand is clear enough to see the diver's own shadow. Scattered reefs hold schools of purple queen anthias and other anthias in a relaxed setting, and schools of rainbow runner and bluefin trevally are often seen.
