Komori No. 1 & No. 2

Komori No. 1 and No. 2 (小森No.1&No.2) are wall dives at Takeshima, dived from the Makurazaki and Bonotsu area of Kagoshima Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 35 m and an average around 15 m; No. 1 is suitable from beginner level. At No. 1, Takeshima's most popular site, anthias carpet the top of the reef in orange and a soft-coral-covered drop-off falls beyond 40 m, with squarespot and striped anthias near the base, pelagics when the current runs, sea turtles, broadclub cuttlefish and the resident school of boarfish. No. 2 is an easy drift along the wall on the ebb tide, down to garden eels and snappers on the sand, with purple queen anthias, boarfish and anthias on the soft-coral wall.
