About this site
Ebiana-Sameana (エビ穴・サメ穴) is a boat-dive site at Shobuzawa, Kawazu, on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, with a maximum depth of 24 m, intermediate and above, with slight current. The dive is mainly about terrain: the lobster hole is a deep crevasse lined with spiny lobster and surrounded by large sea fans, just wide enough for one diver to squeeze through, and the shark hole is a cave of about 10 m with an exit upward, where banded houndsharks and Japanese bullhead sharks rest. Eagle rays, banded coral shrimp, Ortmann's shrimp, crocodile flathead and flounder are also seen.
