About this site
Shobuzawa Point M (ポイントM) is a boat-dive site at Shobuzawa, Kawazu, on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, with a maximum depth of 16 m, suitable from beginner level, and open only in winter. It is the shallowest of the local boat sites, dived in the 14–16 m range along two channels between three rock formations, whose walls are searched for nudibranchs and scorpionfish. The main attraction is banded houndsharks, which rest in their rock holes and on the shallow reef tops, with frogfish and boxfish also seen.
