About this site
Inegase (稲ヶ瀬) is one of the more dramatic offshore pinnacle sites at Nango in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture, 15 minutes by boat, with a maximum depth of 30 m and an average around 5 m, recommended for advanced-certified divers, with current at times. The reef covers a wide area and is split by fissures where shafts of sunlight come through. Macro life is rich, with many popular shrimps and crabs including harlequin shrimp and commensal shrimps, and the highlight is a school of batfish that can number from 20 to nearly 100, alongside schools of surgeonfish and opaleye and striped and red-belted anthias.
