About this site
Jabu Ne (ジャブ根) is a boat site 16 minutes out on the south side of Mikomoto Island off Shimoda, southern Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka. Exposed to the ebb but relatively sheltered from the flood, it lines up with Kame Ne, so drift dives commonly run from Mizukaburi Ne to Kame Ne; maximum depth 30 m, average around 19 m, intermediate and above, with current. Life is much the same as Kame Ne, with dense schools of surgeonfish that can block the view, and it is the site with the best odds of schooling hammerheads at Mikomoto.
