About this site
Kamui Misaki (神威岬) is a boat-dive site off the cape of the same name on the Shakotan Peninsula in Hokkaido, thirty minutes from Horomui harbour, with a maximum depth of 32 m and an average around 18 m. The cape has fast tidal flow, good visibility and noticeably larger fish than other sites; in spring and autumn its ditches hold dense colonies of big fat greenling, black rockfish and striped rockfish. Strong current; intermediate and above. Tuna pass through from September, and lumpfish and Steller sea lions appear from mid-November.
