About this site
Trekking Point (トレッキングポイント) is a shallow site on the Shakotan Peninsula in Hokkaido, seventeen minutes by boat from Horomui harbour, with a maximum depth of 14 m and an average around 7 m. Divers can rest and walk on the columnar basalt shelf, the site is sheltered from swell with good visibility, and entry is possible from the shore or the boat, so it is used for training and introductory dives. Little current; suitable from beginner/novice level. Fat greenling, spotbelly greenling and damselfish are typical.
