About this site
Kokaido Shita (公会堂下) is a fish-watching site in the Makurazaki and Bonotsu area of Kagoshima Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 25 m and an average around 15 m, suitable from beginner level. A gently sloping rock shelf carries corals and soft coral, with gobies, butterflyfish, anthias, crustaceans and nudibranchs to observe. Large boulders dot the shelf above, where semicircle angelfish, bluestriped angelfish, parrotfish and batfish are seen, and green sea turtles appear often.
