About this site
Kominari Beach (コミナリビーチ) is the main shore-entry site at Namegawa in Katsuura on the Boso Peninsula, Chiba, with a maximum depth of 10 m. A reef connected to the shore runs along the north side, and white sand spreads out on the seaward side, with rich life throughout. Current runs when the channel is flowing; suitable from beginner level. Nudibranchs are especially varied, making it a good macro dive, with frogfish and whitefin trevally among the fish, and seasonal tropical visitors from summer into winter.
