About this site
Mitsuse (三ツ瀬) is a pinnacle site at Nango in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture, just under 15 minutes by boat, with a maximum depth of 15 m and an average around 3 m, suitable from beginner level, with current at times. The large main reef in the sand is thickly covered in colourful soft coral with tropical fish schooling over it, and the sunlight on the reef gives a meadow-like scene. Juvenile razorfish hover over the white sand around the reef, with neon damselfish, anthias, coral grouper, spotted knifejaw and anemone shrimps among the sightings.
