About this site
Oshima Fish Reef (大島漁礁) is an artificial-reef site at Nango in Nichinan, Miyazaki Prefecture, ten minutes by boat, with a maximum depth of 12 m and an average around 5 m, suitable from beginner level, with little current. Octagonal bowl-shaped artificial reefs have been sunk here, and they have entrances that divers can pass inside. The shallow depth and small depth range make it a good site for courses and refresher dives, with schools of damselfish, anthias and butterflyfish, boarfish and crinoid shrimps.
