About this site
Onoaida (尾之間) is a shore-entry reef on the south side of Yakushima in Kagoshima Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 18 m and an average of around 10 m. The entry is from the harbour and the dive works around the tetrapods offshore, which are thick with fish; porcupinefish and parrotfish are common and sea turtle encounters are frequent further out. It holds up well in northerly winds and night dives are possible. No current; suitable from beginner level and used for try dives, courses and refreshers.
