About this site
Yudomari (湯泊) is a shore-entry reef on the south side of Yakushima in Kagoshima Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 20 m and an average of around 13 m. Entering beside the harbour, a large channel runs offshore crossed by smaller ones, with dense fish life including many angelfish, yellow-and-blueback fusiliers, spotted eagle rays and cuttlefish. No current inshore, with some further out. Suitable from beginner level; the Yudomari seaside hot spring is close by.
