About this site
Shobuzawa Point A (ポイントA) is a boat-dive site at Shobuzawa, Kawazu, on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, with a maximum depth of 22 m, suitable from beginner level with no current. It is slightly deeper than Monguchi and better for larger fish, with dense life year-round, including schools of cardinalfish, jack and chicken grunt and resident spotted grouper, longtooth grouper and eagle rays. White sand around the reef gives an open feel, with rays, flounder, snake eels and gobies on the bottom, and cusk eels, pinecone fish and stingrays among the finds.
