About this site
Usami Dokan (土管) is a shore-entry site at Usami, Ito, on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, with a maximum depth of 10 m and an average around 7 m, suitable from beginner level with no current, using the beach slope and guide ropes. The site is a field of about 100 concrete pipes lying on the bottom. Japanese bullhead sharks, moray eels and scorpionfish often shelter inside them, along with other animals that have made the pipes their home.
