About this site
An old schooner, she was anchored off Davenport Creek, loading lumber when strong wind came up and broke her anchor chain. The crew tossed a smaller anchor over but it didn't catch, and the vessel fetched up on a shoal just off the point. This shoal has since built up into a small island, and the remains lie to the north side, between the shoal/island and the shore, visible on Google Earth. Lies in about 6.1 m; sank 1916.
